Please note: There is a modifed version of the original email regarding my art where someone inserted a picture of what appears to be hunters weighing a newly killed bear (I found out later they're not hunters; they're biologists digging radio collared bears out of their dens, in Maine, to check their health during hibernation).  I have no idea who inserted that photo, but it gives the wrong impression about my art, and as such, may be considered offensive by those who viewed the altered email.  As a result, to all my visitors, I address MY first question: Do I shoot bears?

     NO, I do not!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, on to the frequently asked questions:

Whatever gave me the idea to use Pine Needles?

God gave me my life and my mind, so he gets the credit for my thoughts and ideas.  My Inspiration comes from all that I love.

How long does it take to do my work?

My carvings in Moose antler take me from 1 to 4 weeks.  My bears take me 3 to 8 months plus.

Antlers?

I buy my antlers, find them in nature, and some are given to me.  Antlers are SHED every year.  I leave them the natural color after carving.  No animal is killed for their parts.

My Bears ~ Construction???

If your question involves constuction of my bears.......that's my secret......to answer would take away the magic of my bears.  I will say my large bears weigh under 50 pounds, have a polyurethane finish and are made to be indoors.  Eyes, nose, and claws are carved wood.

ME?

Yes...that's my real name.  No.....I'm am not the singer, and I doubt we are related.  I'm 52 and attached.

How long have I been doing this?

I'm a self taught artist.  I've been carving for 18 years and started making Pine Needle Bears in 1995.

Where do I live?

I live near the town of Salmon, Idaho.

Can I ( will I ) make a ??????

In most cases I would say I can make whatever I have a mind to.  I still make what I want but have not been able to make anything due to 3,000 plus emails a week.  At this time I cannot take on any commission work.

Prices for my art?

That's a broad questions.  Every piece is Original and has it's own price.  Carvings can run from $500 to $2500......My Large Bears ?????? $60,000+.

How can I buy your art?

Watch my sales page (coming soon).  If I have a piece for sale you will be able to make an offer for it there.
