The painting's history

11-29 through 12-01-08 Universal Sacrifice
Total Hours - 20 hours, 40 minutes

Finishing touches. The painting is now complete.

11-28-08 Universal Sacrifice

I concentrated on the nebula-like clouds around the woman, trying to figure out how to achieve the effect I want.  I still can't get the wispy look.

11-27-08 Universal Sacrifice

This time I shaded and dimensionalized more of the body, added sparkle to the eyes and shading to the face.  I also added more color to the background.  In addition, I worked on the sword blades.  It's definitely hard to make them look sharp.

11-26-08 Universal Sacrifice

I defined the facial features a little more, added color and shading to the body and changed the color of the hair to compliment the background.  The black hair made her look too witchy.

11-24-08 Universal Sacrifice

I work on the face, so it would no longer look like Radar from MASH.  Then I started adding a another layer to the body.

11-23-08 Universal Sacrifice

I added a second layer to parts of the sword, defined the edges of the woman's body and worked on her hair and face.

11-18, 20, 21-08 Universal Sacrifice

I stretched the canvas, painted in the background, drew in and blocked in most of the woman and the sword.
